Welcome to Dating as a Student.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of DatingAsAStudent.com and any related websites, applications, text messaging services, matchmaking services, date coordination services, communications, and other services offered by Dating as a Student ("Dating as a Student," "we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account, submitting an application, joining our matchmaking service, receiving or responding to a date invitation, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the service.

1. What Dating as a Student Is

Dating as a Student is a student-focused matchmaking and date-coordination service intended to help adults meet other students for respectful, meaningful, in-person interactions.

Unlike traditional dating applications, the service may:

collect information about you and your dating preferences;
identify potential matches;
send you invitations to meet another student;
suggest an activity, location, and time;
coordinate dates after both participants agree;
collect private feedback after dates;
facilitate additional dates; and
facilitate the mutual exchange of contact information when both participants agree.

During the initial UC Davis pilot, dates arranged through the service may be limited to public locations on or around the university campus.

Dating as a Student is not intended to operate as a hookup service, escort service, sexual-services marketplace, or adult-content platform.

2. Eligibility

You may use Dating as a Student only if:

you are at least 18 years old;
you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
you are currently enrolled at an eligible college, university, graduate program, professional school, community college, or other institution approved by us;
you provide accurate information;
you have not been prohibited from using the service; and
your use of the service is lawful.

We may require verification of your school affiliation or identity.

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the service.

3. Student Verification

We may verify student status through methods such as:

school email verification;
university authentication;
third-party verification services;
enrollment documentation; or
other reasonable verification methods.

If verification materials are requested, you must provide authentic information belonging to you.

You may not:

use another person's student identification;
impersonate another student;
falsify enrollment information;
submit altered verification documents; or
attempt to circumvent verification procedures.

Verification reduces certain risks but does not guarantee that a person is trustworthy, safe, compatible, or accurately representing all aspects of themselves.

4. Your Profile and Application

You agree to provide information that is reasonably accurate and current.

Depending on the service, we may ask about:

age;
school;
academic program;
interests;
photographs;
height;
relationship intentions;
gender;
people you are interested in dating;
date preferences;
availability;
transportation;
lifestyle preferences; and
other information relevant to matchmaking.

You may contact us to request updates to your profile.

During the pilot period, some changes may be made manually by our team.

You are responsible for notifying us if information relevant to matching is no longer accurate.

5. Dating Preferences and Matching

Dating as a Student may use your submitted information, preferences, availability, prior match history, feedback, and other permitted information to identify potential matches.

We do not guarantee:

that you will receive a match;
how frequently invitations will be sent;
compatibility;
attraction;
chemistry;
that another participant will accept;
that a date will occur;
a second date;
a relationship; or
any particular outcome.

Matchmaking involves judgment and uncertainty. A suggested match is an introduction, not an endorsement of another person.

6. Date Invitations

Receiving a date invitation creates no obligation to accept.

You may:

accept;
decline;
indicate that you are unavailable;
request another match where offered; or
pause participation.

Declining an invitation will not, by itself, result in a penalty.

Where both participants indicate interest, Dating as a Student may coordinate an activity, date, time, and location.

No date is guaranteed until the participants receive confirmation.

7. No Pressure to Exchange Contact Information

There is no expectation that participants exchange:

telephone numbers;
email addresses;
home addresses;
social media accounts; or
other personal contact information

during a date.

Participants remain free to voluntarily share information with one another, but no user may pressure, intimidate, manipulate, or harass another person into doing so.

Where available, Dating as a Student may facilitate contact exchange after both participants independently consent.

8. Post-Date Feedback

After a date, we may ask each participant privately whether they would like to:

meet the same person again;
exchange contact information;
receive another match;
pause matching; or
report a concern.

We may also request feedback regarding the quality, comfort, compatibility, or safety of the interaction.

Your private feedback will generally not be provided verbatim to the other participant.

If one participant does not wish to continue, we may communicate only that the match will not be moving forward.

However, we may use or disclose feedback when reasonably necessary to:

investigate safety concerns;
enforce these Terms;
investigate suspected misconduct;
comply with law; or
protect participants or others.

9. Expected Conduct

You agree to treat other participants respectfully before, during, and after any date.

You may not:

harass, stalk, threaten, bully, intimidate, or abuse another person;
engage in nonconsensual sexual behavior;
pressure someone for physical affection or sexual activity;
pressure someone to consume alcohol or drugs;
repeatedly contact someone who has indicated they are not interested;
discriminate against or demean another participant;
secretly photograph or record someone where doing so is unlawful or reasonably violates their privacy;
expose another participant's private information;
solicit money;
engage in fraud;
impersonate another person;
use the service for commercial solicitation;
use the service to recruit participants into unrelated businesses, organizations, schemes, or services;
use the service for prostitution, escort services, pornography, or commercial sexual activity;
attend a date while intentionally concealing a material safety risk;
bring an unexpected third party to a date without consent; or
intentionally interfere with another participant's use of the service.

Consent to a date is not consent to physical or sexual activity.

Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

10. Campus and Public Dates

During certain pilot programs, we may arrange dates only at designated public locations.

You agree not to intentionally change an arranged public date into a private-location meeting through pressure or deception.

After an arranged date begins, adults ultimately make their own decisions regarding where they go and what they do.

Dating as a Student does not supervise dates and cannot guarantee participant conduct.

11. Safety

Meeting another person always involves risk.

You are responsible for exercising reasonable judgment when interacting with another participant.

We encourage participants to:

meet in public;
maintain control of their own transportation;
tell someone they trust where they are going;
avoid sharing sensitive information prematurely;
protect drinks and personal belongings;
leave any interaction that makes them uncomfortable; and
contact appropriate emergency services when necessary.

Verification, matching, moderation, or other safety measures do not constitute a guarantee of safety.

12. User Content

"User Content" includes information you submit to the service, including photographs, prompt responses, profile information, feedback, and other materials.

You retain ownership of your User Content.

You grant Dating as a Student a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, and use your User Content only as reasonably necessary to:

provide the service;
display your profile to appropriate potential matches;
perform matching;
review profiles;
moderate content;
maintain security;
improve the service; and
comply with applicable law.

This license ends when the content is deleted from our systems, subject to reasonable backup, legal, safety, and retention requirements.

You represent that you have the right to submit your User Content.

13. Prohibited Profile Content

You may not submit content that:

contains another person's photograph without permission;
impersonates another person;
includes unlawful content;
promotes violence or threats;
contains explicit sexual content;
solicits sexual services;
contains contact information in areas where we prohibit it;
promotes scams or fraud;
infringes intellectual-property rights; or
violates another person's privacy.

We may remove or reject content at our discretion when reasonably necessary to operate or protect the service.

14. Communications by Text and Email

By providing your telephone number or email address and opting into the service, you authorize us to send service-related communications, which may include:

verification messages;
application updates;
date invitations;
availability requests;
confirmations;
reminders;
post-date feedback requests;
safety notices; and
account notices.

Standard message and data rates may apply.

Where required, you may opt out of certain text messages by following the instructions provided.

Some operational communications may still be sent by email while your account remains active.

15. Free Pilot

Dating as a Student may offer some or all services without charge during pilot or testing periods.

Free access does not create a right to permanent free service.

If we introduce paid services later, pricing and applicable terms will be presented before you purchase them.

We will not charge you merely because you previously participated in a free pilot.

16. Suspension and Termination

We may investigate, restrict, suspend, or terminate an account if we reasonably believe that:

these Terms were violated;
the account presents a safety concern;
information was falsified;
the user engaged in harassment or misconduct;
verification failed;
the account is fraudulent;
required eligibility conditions are no longer satisfied; or
continued access could create legal, security, or operational risk.

Where appropriate, we may allow an appeal or request for reconsideration.

You may stop using the service or request account deletion at any time.

17. Reporting Misconduct

Participants should report suspected misconduct through the reporting methods made available by Dating as a Student.

We may investigate reports but cannot guarantee any particular outcome.

Knowingly submitting materially false reports may itself violate these Terms.

18. Third-Party Services

Our service may rely on third parties for functions such as:

hosting;
database services;
email delivery;
text messaging;
authentication;
student verification;
security;
analytics; or
location information.

Those services may have their own terms and privacy practices.

19. Intellectual Property

Dating as a Student, including its name, branding, website design, software, text, graphics, and proprietary matchmaking systems, is owned by or licensed to Dating as a Student and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, reproduce, resell, or commercially exploit the service except as expressly permitted by law.

20. No Background-Check Guarantee

Unless we expressly state otherwise, Dating as a Student does not represent that every participant has undergone a criminal background check or comprehensive identity investigation.

Student verification is not equivalent to a criminal background check.

You should not interpret verification or admission to the service as a statement that a participant is safe or free of criminal history.

21. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

Dating as a Student does not warrant that:

the service will always be available;
matches will be compatible;
participants will behave appropriately;
information supplied by participants is completely accurate;
dates will occur as planned; or
participation will result in a relationship.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot legally be waived.

22. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Dating as a Student will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.

Dating as a Student does not control the conduct of participants outside our platform and cannot assume responsibility for every action occurring during or after an introduction.

This provision does not exclude liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude.

23. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Dating as a Student and its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates harmless from claims arising from your unlawful conduct, violation of these Terms, infringement of another person's rights, or misuse of the service.

24. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

Unless otherwise required by law, these Terms will be governed by the laws of the State of California.

Any arbitration agreement, class-action waiver, small-claims provision, venue clause, or jury-trial waiver should be separately reviewed by legal counsel before being incorporated.

25. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves.

If we make material changes, we will provide notice as required by law.

Continued use after an updated effective date constitutes acceptance where legally permitted.
